The Company - Pinewoods Technology UK Limited under the Trade Name - Selfdrive.uk will be officially Interpreted/titled as Selfdrive for this agreement. This instrument is a contract and governs the legal relationship between Selfdrive and the Hirer/Renter.
The terms and conditions below govern your use of and access to Selfdrive's service and contain conditions, limitations and exclusions that might apply to you. Please read them carefully and keep them safe for your future reference
Definitions
1. The "Selfdrive" refers to the provider of the car rental services via the mobile application and the e-commerce platform with its associated services.
2. The "Hirer" represents renters, drivers, customers, clients, lessors, or any corporate entity, such as company, partnership, trust, sole partnership, that avails the services of Selfdrive for renting a car on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly (lease) basis, bound by the terms and conditions mentioned here in.
3. "Booking/Reservation" represents a booking made by the hirer using the Selfdrive mobile application (IOS | Android | Mobile Site | Progressive Web Application (PWA)) or the platform availing the services pursuant to the below terms and conditions subject to successful payment confirmation.
4. "Booking Confirmation" refers to any electronic communication (e-ticket) issued to the hirer by Selfdrive upon a successful booking after payment confirmation with all the relevant details related to the booking and the terms and conditions agreed by the hirer.
5. "Partner/Affiliate Partners" represents a company or organization, including a car dealership, car leasing, or a car rental company, the principal supplier of the vehicle to the hirer, and the beneficial owner of the vehicle supplied.
6. "Rental Agreement/ Lease Agreement" refers to the rental/lease contract between the hirer and the partner for the vehicle provided as part of the rental during the vehicle handover for the rental period opted by the hirer.
7. "Vehicler" refers to the car or any other vehicle rented pursuant to a booking, which has been rented to the hirer and includes its parts, components, accessories, and contents supplied by Selfdrive or its affiliate partners.
8. "Kilometers Allowance" refers to the permissible kilometers allowed per day (Daily & Weekly) or per month for Monthly, Micro lease and leasepro bookings during the rental period as agreed and accepted during the booking.refers to the permissible kilometers allowed per day (Daily & Weekly) or per month for Monthly, Micro-lease, and lease-pro bookings during the rental period as agreed and accepted during the booking.
9. "Excess km" refers to any additional kilometers driven more than the permissible kilometer as agreed during the booking confirmation, during the rental period, or at an earlier time in the event of early termination.
10. "Early Termination" refers to an event in which the hirer is terminating the contract prior to the actual end date and is subject to early termination charge.
11. "Early Termination Charge" refers to the penalty incurred by the hirer due to the event of terminating the contract prior to the actual end date.
1. Insurance
1. Comprehensive insurance is provided subject to current UK law. The Hirer is liable for the actual cost of the damage including the service charge (varies per car category), against claims resulting from each and every accident, including hit-and-run, reporting at fault (as evidenced by a Police report). This can be waived by buying the Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) if applicable and offered by Selfdrive.uk & its partners. The Hirer shall not act in any way that would invalidate the risk or increase the cost of insurance in respect of the vehicle. In the event of breach of this clause, the hirer is liable to pay the company for all loss, damage, costs and expenses which arises therein. Hirers will not do anything that may prejudice any warranty or maintenance contract given by the manufacturer of the vehicle.
2. Kilometers Allowance
1. Kilometers are limited to 100 km per day for Daily & Weekly & 1500 km to 2500 km per month, depending upon the car selected (Refer to the E-ticket for exact details). For Price Lock Option i.e. more than 1 month booking, it will be 1500 km to 2500 km per month.
2. Hirer agrees to maintain within the agreed and allowed kilometers as per the booking confirmation. In the event if the Hirer has exceeded the agreed kilometers, each additional kilometer will be charged up to GBP 5 per km based on the car model (refer to the e-ticket shared for actual details). In the event of an early return, the excess kilometers will be charged as per the duration of the return based on the allowed kilometers.
3. Maintenance
1. It includes routine servicing at 1,500 km (first service), oil change at every 5,000 km, and major servicing at every 10,000 km or at every six months whichever comes first.
2. All cars need to be serviced with regular intervals of 12000 km or 2 years. Unless the car issues a service warning. It's the responsibility of the Hirer to request for servicing using the appropriate means. Any delay in requesting for the servicing leading to the damage/breach of warranty will be the Hirer's liability.
3. The customer shall not have the vehicle serviced, maintained, repaired with any other third parties.
4. Replacement Vehicles
1. In the event of routine service (Downtime of more than 24 hours), maintenance and/or breakdown of a replacement vehicle of similar category nearest in size and amenities to the hired one, as is possible, will be provided at no extra cost subject to the availability.
2. The company reserves the right to recall the rented car by the Hirer due to Vehicle End of Service, Expired warranty, Expired Vehicle License/Plate registration/Insurance, or any other subject matter to which the car is in a non-drivable state (or) a recall of the car has been requested by the manufacturer.
3. In the above case Selfdrive and its partner will provide an alternative option to maintain the basic level service contract.
4. In case the Hirer refuses to accept the replacement car provided, the contract will be considered terminated under Daily, Weekly & Monthly Subscription bookings. In case of a Leased car under Micro lease/Lease Pro this will be treated as early termination & standard termination charges will be applicable.
5. Accidents
1. In the event of any damage or accident to the car, police must be called before the vehicle is moved and a police report and a repair slip must be obtained. Should these documents fail to be obtained, then the Hirer is responsible for all damages incurred. It is the Hirer's responsibility to obtain these documents.
6. Traffic Violations & Toll
1. All costs incurred as a result of Fines or Tolls or other Penalties (imposed by traffic police or any other legal authorities), taking place during the rental usage will be Hirer's responsibility and would be recovered accordingly. Company reserves the right to charge the credit card to cover the above said non-rental charges and an email with the supporting document will be shared to the registered email ID.
2. There will be a Service charge of GBP 50 or 15% whichever is heigher on the total amount levied on top of the traffic fines or other penalties or additional charges.
3. Service continuity in the event of default in clearing the traffic fine is a sole discretion of Selfdrive and/or its affiliate partners.
7. Fuel, Water, Oil & Tire Pressure
1. Special or Unleaded fuel is to be used.
2. 20% admin fee will be charged to the refueling cost
3. It is the responsibility of the Hirer to check water and oil levels as well as tire pressure from time to time and keep it maintained at such levels as is expected as per the make of the car. Any kind of Damage or Puncture to the tire will be billed to Hirer and the Hirer is authorized for any change to the tire as per the OEM brand, make and specification only. In case of any deviation being noticed at the time of vehicle return, the Hirer will be charged accordingly as invoiced by the partner
8. Vehicle Condition & Tinting Glass
1. The Hirer must keep the hired vehicle in a clean, safe, and sound condition to avoid any additional charges pertaining to the cleaning of the vehicle at the time of vehicle return.
2. Tinting of vehicle's window glass is not permitted for rented vehicles, a fine of GBP 5,000 would be imposed on violators/offenders who would be held responsible for the same.
9. Vehicle Check-In
1. Hirer must inform Selfdrive or its associate partners, before hiring, of his intention to return the vehicle at another premise and must define the date and time otherwise excess days' charge shall be imposed on him. Any change in return location other than the location selected at the time of the start of the rentals will be a chargeable service.
2. At the time of vehicle's off-hire, the cost of any un-reported damage/s as well as damages with no police report(s), would be fully charged to the Hirer's account.
10.Driving License
1. A UK driving license is a must for all residents, while an international driving license along with a home country license is required for the tourist/visitors.
11. Payment & Deposit:
1. After successful booking, an e-ticket will be sent to the registered email Id and SMS will be shared to the registered mobile number as payment confirmation.
2. Payment terms are negotiated at the time of rental where credit card/debit cards payments are accepted. Rental charges will be collected in advance and a pre-authorization/charge for security deposit is applicable to confirm a booking.
3. Hirer must be the holder of the credit/debit card utilized for the transaction and the Hirer must be present at the time of collection at the rental counter or upon delivery to execute the agreement. Failure to adhere to the cardholder policy shall result in the cancellation of the reservation with 10% of the total invoice values as cancellation fee. Any remaining balance will be transferred as “Selfdrive credits”, which is to be claimed by the Hirer by logging into the Selfdrive mobile application.
4. The Hirer must have the adequate credit limit to cover a minimum deposit ranging from GBP 500 - GBP 5000, depending on the leased/renter car model.
5. The deposit shall be a Pre Auth/a charge in the Hirer's credit/debit card and is intended to cover the potential traffic fines & minor vehicle damages up to the cost of the repair.
6. Late Payment Charges: In the event of payments not received for extension of a reservation, a late payment charge of GBP 250 per month on all the late payment Invoiced months will be applicable.
7. In case of a payment default or a payment failure, Selfdrive and/or its associated partner reserves the right to implement any measures leading to the immobilization of the vehicle to recover the outstanding by giving adequate notice. Remobilization of the vehicle will be at a cost of GBP 100+VAT.
8. The Hirer hereby authorizes Selfdrive and its affiliate partners to seize and/or take steps to seize and/or authorize another to seize the subject matter rented and/or perform any act that is necessary to retrieve the subject matter and thereafter repossess the subject matter by gaining full physical custody and control of the rented subject matter, upon the Hirer commits and/or alleged to have committed an act, which was not subsequently rectified within the time period as notified by the Selfdrive or its affiliate partners, that repudiates the contract between the Selfdrive and Hirer. The Hirer further acknowledges that the representatives of the Selfdrive or its affiliate partners have the full authority to accept the delivery of the subject matter rented and the Hirer irrevocably agrees to hand over peaceful custody of such subject matter to the representative(s) of Selfdrive or its affiliate partners upon a legitimate representation is made to that effect.
12. Booking Extension
1. An auto extension will be triggered for all the rentals - Daily | Weekly | Monthly on the date of the rental expiry as per the billing cycle in the e-ticket. It is the Hirer's responsibility to inform the Selfdrive team using the Selfdrive Mobile Application - "Return" tab in my account section maximum 24 hours prior to the rental expiry. The Selfdrive will not process any claims after the invoice is generated from the auto extension and will not accept any refund requests there after.
2. It is the Hirer's responsibility to ensure the extension or return of the vehicle by communicating with the Selfdrive team at least 24 hours before the rental period expires using the Selfdrive app or to the authorized call center. Failure to do so will result in automatic extension of the rental as per the original booking duration and type.
3. No Refunds will be processed once the auto extension is processed.
13. Offers
All offers are limited to only to the 1st reservation/1st Time users and same offer rates will not be applicable on extension of the reservation. Offers are limited to car models and time and duration. The Selfdrive reserves the right to close the offer period or close the complete offer without any prior notice. All extensions will be shifted to the new rates post the offer ends, except for the bookings under the Monthly category processed with installment pre-agreed by the Selfdrive.
14. Zero Deposit Offer
1. This offer is valid for a limited period of time and on selected car models.
2. This offer is Exclusively for Debit and Credit Card Holders Only.
3. At any given time, the Debit and/or Credit Card Holder must have enough credit limit to cover the Damages, Fine, Toll, Dents, Penalty, Fees, Fuel, Tire, or losses, failing to do so is deemed as breach of contract and will be termed as willful defaulter.
4. Minimum liability will be the Security Deposit Amount Mentioned prior to booking the car and as mentioned on the invoice (e-ticket).
5. In case, any scope of damage is reported, Selfdrive reserves the right to Charge the Card Holder/User with a min amount of a GBP2500/- up to the value of the damage as per the details shared by the partner on the given card number.
6. The card holder authorizes Pinewoods Technology Services to Charge Min Security Deposit to cover any Damages, Fine, Toll, Dents, Penalty, Fees, Fuel, Tires or Losses or total amount whichever is higher to its Card.
7. The Card Holder also confirms these charges to be accepted and Indemnifies that No card chargeback case will be filed or claimed following the Zero Deposit Offer.
8. Anyone who does not wish to be a part of this offer should reach out to the company within 24 hrs of booking the car and opt-out of the offer before vehicle pick up by sharing the details of the bookings to info@self-drive.uk.
9. All standard terms and conditions are applicable as per the rental agreement.
15. Cancellation Policy
1. All cancellations will be processed only via the Selfdrive authorized call center.
2. Refunds for the reservations will be issued if cancellations are requested within 7 days of the initial booking before the vehicle pick up. Flat 10 % Cancellation fee will be applicable in case of cancellations due to non-compliant in providing the required documents such as credit card/deposit card copy (as per the original mode of payment), or any other required documents as per the concerned authorities for a rental/lease contract execution and change of plans etc.
3. Refunds will be done only through the original mode of payment. It can take up to 45 days for the refund transfer to be completed.
16. No Shows/Lost Rentals: Prepaid Reservations (Pay Online)
1. If you fail to cancel your reservation prior to the Pick-Up Time and do not collect the vehicle on the Pick-Up Date, or if you fail to comply with the pick-up terms (refer Rental Qualifications & Requirements), we reserve the right to make a No Show/Lost Rental Charge as full rental amount.
2. If no communication is received from the Hirer's end within 12 hrs from the pick-up time, about any change in the reservation 100% rental will be charged
17. Early Return
1. Rental Refund is not applicable in case of an early return on the cars.
2. Refund of down payment is not applicable in case of early return of the car that has been under the subscription offer.
18. Late Return Charge
1. Hirers are expected to return the vehicle at the same time as per the vehicle checkout signed at the time of vehicle pickup.
2. 1 Hour buffer time will be permitted from the time of actual return time.
3. Any delay further, Selfdrive reserves the right to charge a Late return fee of min GBP 50.00 to max GBP 1000.00 or a min of 1 day rental + GBP 250 admin fees to compensate us in part for the costs we incur in finding an alternative vehicle to satisfy our next booking for your vehicle and for our administration costs in contacting you to return the vehicle.
19. Refund
1. All refund claims need to be processed via pre approval from the company. All the details i.e., E-ticket, Reservation Copy etc. for the refund needs to be mailed to accounts@self-drive.uk.
2. All refunds will be processed to the Hirers card as per the original mode of payment only. All Claims and refund requests need to be processed within 60 days from the date of reservation or payments made.
3. All deposit refunds will be processed within 30 days and upon receiving total clearance from the supply partners and the concerned government authorities for the traffic fines etc.
20. Terminations
1. All 3 Month, 6 Month, 12 Months reservations are subject to an early termination penalty of 2 Months rental charges in case of an early return or early contract closure
2. No Refunds will be processed for early termination of a Daily | Weekly | Monthly Reservations
21. Indemnification
Without limiting the generality or effect of other provisions of this Agreement, you agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend us, our affiliates, licensees, subcontractors, and agents, and each of our or their officers, directors, and employees, from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees), or other expenses that arise directly or indirectly out of or from your breach or alleged breach of this Agreement/any clause or part, including any violation of the Code of Conduct above; and (b) your use of this website and engagement in transactions on this website including, but not limited to, use of the Site Materials.
22. Delivery/Collection of Vehicles
● Delivery/Collection of vehicles is chargeable and varies according with a minimum charge of GBP 50/- each way
● Prior to returning the vehicle (Actual Rented Car or Replacement Car), the customer must ensure that the vehicle is clean, free from all personal belongings and waste materials, and return it with the same fuel level as received.
● If the returned vehicle contains customer belongings, they will be kept in the lost and found department. The customer is responsible for collecting their belongings within 15 days from the date of retrieval. Hence Forward the company and its suppliers do not stand liable towards any losses incurred from the same and would not accept any compensation claims.
23. Airport Surcharge
All airport parking charges are the responsibility of the hirer. If Selfdrive pays these charges on behalf of the hirer, an additional GBP 25 (minimum) surcharge will apply.
24. Breakdown Service
The Hirer will have to contact the partner through the number mentioned in the Selfdrive mobile application after logging into the profile or through the number mentioned in the e-ticket.
25. Additional Charges
Additional charges shall be applicable to the Hirer for any tollgate passing as well as for any other additional requirements of Hirer and as per the Law. It is the responsibility of the Hirer to carry a baby seat as mandated by the concerned traffic authorities. Any fines with regards to the same will be charged to the Renters accounts.
26. Driving Outside the Permitted Zone & Off-Road Driving
1.Our vehicles are not permitted to be used for Safari/Fun-drive/Race/Off roading/Advertising/Hiring/Leasing/Subleasing/Contracting/3rd party Contracting and mobility services/Loans/Use for Loan Security/Financial Rewards. The Hirer will be held liable to pay all damages, necessary repairs & towing charges if he failed to adhere with the same.
2. In general, the rental vehicle may only be used in the state of pick up and the surrounding geographical area (region) as approved and accepted by the law of the land.
27. Usage of Vehicles
1. Hirer commits and agrees that he won't allow anybody to drive the rented vehicle unless been authorized by selfdrive.uk.
2. Hirer undertakes that neither he nor any of the listed additional drivers will use the vehicle in, Pushing, Pulling or Towing objects, Races & Fun Drive, Rough Roads & desert Safaris, teach Driving, rent the vehicle without Selfdrive permission. Hirers that fail to adhere to the same will be held responsible & liable for all charges resulting from damages, penalties, fines & other dues. Hirer commits that he/any additional driver will not drive the vehicle outside the permitted zone.
3. Smoking including the use of electronic smoking devices are not permitted in any of the Selfdrive cars.
4. The Hirer agrees to disclose the location of the vehicle upon request and allow the company or its representatives to inspect the vehicle at all reasonable times and for that purpose to allow entry into any land/premise where the vehicle is located/stored.
28. Minor Not Allowed To Be A User
Use of website and services of booking/rental/driving of Selfdrive is available only to persons who are above the age of 24 years and max 65 years and can form a legally binding contract under the local Law. If you are a minor i.e., under the age of majority specified by Law of the Land, you may use https://www.selfdrive only through a parent or guardian, but you are not permitted to subscribe to the services yourself by using the website.
29. We will accept the following currency towards payment: GBP only
30. We expressly state that we do not trade with or provide services in/to OFAC and sanctioned countries.
31. The Hirer must maintain a copy of transaction records and other relevant policies and rules.
32. Contract - Commercial Terms & Conditions
All the commercial terms will be as per the agreed terms with Selfdrive and it will prevail over all the others agreements/contracts/terms etc.
33. Compensation
It will be the full discretion of selfdive.uk and its associate partners to offer any compensation in any situation that deems fit and the situation will be assessed with the proper documentation (circumstantial or objective) and the details of the compensation if any will be referred back to the renter in 7 working days.

35. Limitation of Liability
As a condition of your use of this website, you agree that neither we, nor any of our affiliates, licensees, suppliers, directors, officers, shareholders, employees, or agents, will be liable to you, anyone claiming for/through/under you or in trust/as fiduciary for you or any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or other damages under any contract, negligence, strict liability, or other theory/law, or consequential loss of profits, loss of earnings, loss of business opportunities, lost data, interrupted communications, damages, expense, or costs resulting directly or indirectly from or otherwise arising in connection with:

● Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with this website and/or site materials contained within this website is to stop using/choosing not to start using at all this website and/or site materials, as applicable. Your use of this website will be presumed and deemed to be a use after having fully read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions herein contained.
● The United Kingdom is our country of domicile.
